Tour Overview Itinerary

This small group adventure travel is good for you if you love mountain climbing, caving, snorkelling etc. As a short adventure trip, you will journey through the Ogbunike caves where locals hid in 1968 and 1969 to escape the dangers of the Nigerian civil war. Descending into the caves is not for the fainthearted as it has 317 steps. From here, you will soak up in the Awhum waterfalls and explore the caves. Also, you will be visiting Ngwo Pine Forest to behold the beautiful green vegetation. Your journey to the city where coal mining started in Nigeria will end with mountain climbing at Ugwueme and Udi hills.

Day 1

Trekking and backpacking at Ngwo Pine Forest Leave the comfort of your hotel room and get ready for a walk at Ngwo Pine Forest and caves. You will be surrounded by green vegetations in a forest full of pine trees. Nothing to worry about as your personal security will be with you. Our experienced tour guides will be with you to supply you with the rich history of the forest full of Pine trees. When you get back to Enugu, visit Enugu museum of unity and learn more about the history and culture of Enugu people.

Day 2

Soaking up at Awhum waterfalls Wanna get wet? Sure you do. You are going to get wet at Awhum waterfalls and soak up in the stream of the Awhum hill. First, you will go mountain climbing on the Awhum hills and explore the caves before getting wet at the waterfalls. You can travel back with some of the water as the water is famed to have healing powers.

Day 3

Caving at Ogbunike caves Next place you will be visiting is a UNESCO world heritage site. The Ogbunike caves! Spend time exploring these cave where people hid during the Nigerian civil war. Listen to our tour guides explain the importance of these caves to the people of Ogbunike. Aside from being a threshold of protection during the civil war, ancient slave traders hid in the caves to carry out their activities
